Darryl Anthony Reid was born in 'The city that never sleeps' St. James, Port of Spain and has been performing since the age of nine. Darryl began his journey in music as a Calypsonian, performing at school and national competitions. However, Darryl would later find his true musical calling as a teenager when he began to play the Steel Pan.

In 1994, Darryl joined the St. James Tripolians through the influence of his father and began arranging songs for the band's stage side. He teamed up with Arranger Keith Simpson in 1998 to arrange his first Panorama piece and made it to the final round of competition.

Darryl would go on to become the band's Musical Director and produced numerous musical pieces for both competitions and the band's repertoire over a 15 year period. Darryl also had the opportunity to work along with fellow Arranger Nigel Diaz with Humming Birds Pan Groove and Fascinators Pan Symphony. He also worked with Power Stars, Curepe Polyphonics and the St. Agnes Primary School.

As a Steel Pan soloist Darryl has performed extensively for many clients including Government Ministries, State Agencies, private and corporate clients and numerous weddings and receptions. He also had the pleasure of becoming a Cultural Ambassador, representing Trinidad and Tobago at various Trade and Tourism Events in North and South America, Europe and the Caribbean. Today, Darryl continues to perform and develop his musical abilities in the hope of sharing love, peace and joy through his music and ministry. Darryl aspires to positively contribute his musical flavour to the landscape of World Music.Â
